Greetings from Antarctica! We landed on the blue sea ice runaway on October 4, 2011 to begin our 2011 field season at McMurdo Station. The United States Airforce kindly flew us down aboard a C-17 and we were greeted by beautiful weather and incredible views of Mount Discovery and the Royal Society Mountain range on the west side of McMurdo Sound. Our initial four member field team includes Dr. Gretchen Hofmann, Dr. Pauline Yu, Mr. Paul Matson, and Ms. Lydia Kapsenberg.
